Raw Star Says He’s Proud Of Current WWE Champion WWE

WrestleMania 39 may have had it’s fair share of contentious ups and downs, however, one universally agreed upon positive was the Smackdown Women’s Championship match between Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley.

Despite not being given the night one main event slot, despite at one time being touted to do so, Ripley and Charlotte arguably stole the weekend and provided one of the best matches in recent WrestleMania history.

While the match itself was a highlight, perhaps an even bigger one was seeing Ripley rewarded for her excellent work in WWE recently as a part of The Judgment Day.

Ripley’s fellow Judgement Day member Damian Priest recently discussed Ripley’s title win on Ryan Satin’s Out of Character Podcast, revealing how proud he was of the ‘eradicator’.

Priest said:

“Obviously everybody knows that we became friends in NXT and we’ve stayed close ever since. She’s like my little sister. I’m so happy and proud. I legit got a little emotional last night just seeing how hard she’s worked.

“She’s been through a lot, being away from home and away from her family. I mean, a lot of us sacrifice, but not to that level.

“I mean, her family is literally on the other side of the planet and goes years without seeing them. For somebody who grew up very close knit with their family, that’s hard, but she muscles through, literally, and keeps working hard and never stops striving for more.

“It’s really gratifying on my end to witness it, to be a part of it, and share that enjoyment that she’s feeling right now. I’m so proud of her.”

While Ripley’s first feud for her newly won Smackdown Women’s Championship has yet to be determined Priest looks potentially set for a showdown with Bad Bunny at San Juan, Puerto Rico’s Backlash Premium Live Event.

Priest choke slammed Bunny through a table on last week’s Raw, something he will address on tonight’s Monday Night Raw (April 10)
