Triple H addressed the WWE Raw crowd tonight in Chicago (April 24) to share a big announcement. Find out what he had to say!
Triple H made his big announcement by saying:
“Now I have the incredible privilege of ensuring that WWE is all it can be for generations moving forward and that is why I’m out here tonight to talk about Roman Reigns.
“The Undisputed Universal WWE Champion who is coming up on 1,000 days as Champion.
“1,000 days as Champion, it is incredible, it is unheard of in the modern era, he has defended that championship against everybody, a who’s who of superstars… he is that, damn good.”
However while complimenting Reigns’ ability to hold the Championship for so long, he noted that the result was that it was defended much less frequently.
Going on to tell fans that they deserve more, they need “more than that.”
Announcing that the Draft would change WWE at it’s very core because whichever brand Roman Reigns gets drafted to, he will take the WWE Undisputed Championship with him and he will stay there.
He then went on to say that on Saturday May 27th at Night of Champions, the other brand would crown a new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
Revealing the belt design, he noted that this would be a Champion who would defend this Championship “anywhere, any place, anytime, all over the world.”
Triple H said:
“This Champion will not have to demand your acknowledgement, this champion will earn your acknowledgement and will earn the title of World Heavyweight Champion.”
The first champion will be crowned at Night of Champions on May 27 in Saudi Arabia, the show that was originally going to be King and Queen of the Ring.
