The reaction of individuals within WWE to Adam Cole appearing during the closing moments of All Out on September 5 have been revealed.
Following his AEW debut, Adam Cole confirmed that he signed a contract extension with WWE long enough for him to wrestle Kyle O’Reilly at NXT TakeOver 36. Cole’s AEW appearance took place just two weeks after his last WWE match.
As per Fightful Select (subscription required), Cole’s All Out appearance didn’t come as much of a surprise to those within WWE. Many individuals in the company had expected Cole to sign with AEW as of last weekend.
Fightful noted that those within WWE that they spoke to only had good things to say about Cole, especially about how he dealt with the surprise contract expiration and extension.
The former NXT Champion reportedly only officially joined AEW on Sunday, the day of All Out. It was previously revealed that most of the AEW locker room were not informed about any Adam Cole All Out debut plans.
