It won’t have escaped the notice of many fans that Drew McIntyre is being rather protected on Raw as of late.
Despite being in a tag team with Dolph Ziggler for a number of months now, Drew has not been pinned since his return, only losing through Ziggler eating the pinfall.
Following Roman Reigns’ tragic departure from in-ring competition, the idea of inserting Drew into the Crown Jewel main event with Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar was widely pitched, but again, it was seen detrimental to put McIntyre in a match he wasn’t going to win.
Braun is widely expected to beat Brock Lesnar and at Crown Jewel on Friday (November 2), and then will begin feuding with Drew.
The arena hosting TLC in December has advertised Drew vs Braun as a match, leading us to believe that this is indeed the direction WWE are headed.
Whether or not the push will go as far as putting the title on him so soon after Braun wins remains to be seen, but it seems clear that Vince is very high on the Scottish Psychopath at the moment.
