WWE star Natalya is heading to GCW Bloodsport XIII on April 17, 2025, and the reason behind this has now been revealed.
The presence of WWE stars at GCW Bloodsport events is not new, with Shayna Baszler having competed at two shows and NXT’s Charlie Dempsey having appeared at three in 2024.
The upcoming April 2025 show marks Natalya’s first appearance at GCW Bloodsport and first non-WWE match since 2010.
It doesn’t stop there for Natalya, either, with May 17 seeing her compete at NWA Crockett Cup which takes place at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia.
Mike Johnson recently addressed the rationale behind Natalya taking independent bookings in a PW Insider Q&A.
According to Johnson, WWE asked Natalya if she wanted to do them and represent the company on the independent scene.
Natalya clearly agreed to the proposal with Johnson noting that the WWE star is a “massive team player.”
The veteran signed a new deal with the company in July 2024 after multiple rumors that she was set to part ways with WWE.
Recently, on WWE Raw, Alpha Academy’s Maxxine Dupri has attempted to secure Natalya as a mentor.
Natalya signed with WWE in January 2007 and has gone on to be SmackDown Women’s Champion, Women’s Tag Team Champion and Divas Champion.
