WWE release Curt Hawkins documentary

Curt Hawkins hasn’t won a match since November of 2016, when he defeated Apollo Crews on an episode of SmackDown Live.

The former WWE Tag Team Champion currently owns the longest losing streak in WWE history, standing at 221 at time of writing.

Some could refer to this as a waste of good talent. Hawkins is an experienced competitor and very capable in the ring, and this poses the question as to why WWE are so adamant to continue his losing streak.

Well, seemingly, they’re not. It’s actually Hakwins himself who wants to keep the streak alive until the moment is right.
Well, Hawkins and WWE are embracing this run, and a couple of days ago announced a WWE Network collection dedicated to the former Edgehead.

Not only that, but a mini-documentary was released to WWE‘s YouTube channel, highlighting Hawkins’ road to 200 straight losses.

Curt describes how he was only made aware of his losing streak after he was tweeted by fans when the total reached 100.

The video takes us through the Greatest Royal Rumble in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where Hawkins was a part of the first ever 50-man Royal Rumble match. Needless to say, he lasted about two minutes before being swatted away by Braun Strowman.
The ‘Prince of Queens’ also focuses on his friendship with fellow WWE performer Zack Ryder, and also how the streak has actually allowed fans to become invested in his matches.

The doc closes out on Hawkins’ recent match against local competitor James Harden, which Hawkins looked sure to win. Baron Corbin interrupted proceedings and attacked Harden, resulting in a Hawkins loss via disqualification and his 200th bout without a victory.

“I think I’m destined for something. You know, when I get the win, it’s gonna be a big one.”

Who do you think Hawkins will defeat to end his streak? Let us know in the comments below, on Twitter, or on Discord.
