Released WWE Stars Teased For Upcoming NJPW Match? WWE/NJPW

Two released WWE stars have seemingly been teased for an upcoming match in NJPW, teaming alongside the Young Bucks.

A video message from Matthew and Nicholas Jackson aired at the NJPW Windy City Riot event, with the Young Bucks challenging the Bullet Club War Dogs to an eight-man tag-team match.

With the Young Bucks hinting that they’d be bringing some familiar names to team with them, many fans speculated that they could’ve been talking about Luke (Doc) Gallows and Karl Anderson.

NJPW has now officially announced this eight-man tag-team match for the May 9 Resurgence show in Ontario, Canada.

While the Young Bucks’ two teammates are officially listed as mystery opponents, NJPW highlighted the Young Bucks’ use of the term “OG buddies” when describing their tag partners.

NJPW shared the following preview for the match:

NJPW’s return to Ontario California was too much of an intriguing opportunity for the Young Bucks to pass up, and Matthew and Nicholas Jackson will return to the cerulean for the first time since New Beginning in Osaka at Resurgence.

In the wake of a BULLET CLUB civil war between War Dogs and HOUSE OF TORTURE, the Bucks believe their era of BC, or indeed any ventures they get involved with is head and shoulders above the rest, and look to prove that in eight man action against the Dogs, and alongside ‘some OG buddies’.

This official announcement has led many to believe that Gallows and Anderson will be the mystery tag-team partners.

This duo were notably part of Bullet Club when the Young Bucks first joined the faction, with Karl Anderson being one of the founding members of the group back in 2013.

In addition to their Bullet Club ties, the Good Brothers are closely associated with the term “original” following their run as the OC (Original Club) in WWE, which further adds to speculation that the “OG buddies” the Young Bucks were talking about could be a reference to them.

Anderson and Gallows were released from their WWE contracts on February 8, meaning their 90-day non-compete clauses would end on May 9, the day of Resurgence.
