Following her 90-day non-compete clause, released WWE star Xia Li has revealed she had to cancel a MMA fight while in NXT.
After nearly 7 years with WWE, Xia Li was released from the company in April 2024.
On July 18, Li completed her 90-day non compete clause and announced that she is set to make her MMA debut on August 3 against Xiomara Lee.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Xia Li revealed that she had a fight scheduled when she was signed to WWE, but had to cancel. She said:
“I’ve wanted to fight for many years. Last time, I was in NXT. I almost got a fight, but they found out, so I had to cancel.”
“I called my coach, ‘When is the next fight?’ ‘August.’ ‘Okay, I’m in.’ That was the first thing after I got released. I called my coach,”
Xia Li is set to compete for West Coast Pro Wrestling on August 17.
