WWE Releases Unseen Backstage Footage Of CM Punk Survivor Series 2023 Return

WWE Releases Unseen Backstage Footage Of CM Punk Survivor Series 2023 Return WWE

On its one year anniversary, WWE has released previously unseen backstage footage of CM Punk’s shock return at Survivor Series 2023.

On November, 25 2023, two months on from his AEW departure and 10 years from his last WWE appearance, CM Punk made a surreal return to WWE at the very end of last year’s Survivor Series event.

Despite suffering a triceps tear in his first TV match back at the 2024 Royal Rumble, Punk has enjoyed a memorable first year back in the company and is less than a week away from competing inside WarGames at this year’s Survivor Series.

To mark the one year anniversary of Punk’s return, WWE have released backstage footage of the moments both immediately before and after Punk walked through the curtain at the Allstate Arena.

As can be seen in full down below, Punk is seen being escorted to Gorilla by Bruce Prichard before reuniting with the likes of Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, William Regal and many others.

Once back after his return Punk can be seen meeting other familar faces such as Randy Orton and Kofi Kingston, as well as Bayley, Rhea Ripley, Dominik Mysterio and many more.

Upon the release of the footage on YouTube, Triple H took to Twitter to comment on Punk’s return a year ago, writing:

The night that froze hell, broke the internet… and changed everything.

Never-before-seen footage from @CMPunk’s return at last year’s #SurvivorSeries has been revealed.

As revealed on SmackDown, Punk will make his first in-ring WWE appearance since Bad Blood when he teams with Team OG Bloodline to take on The New Bloodline inside WarGames.
