WWE is reportedly planning to hold a Queen of the Ring tournament at some point in 2021.
The news was broken by Wrestling Inc. earlier today, which hasn’t had the best track record recently, so do keep that in mind. The report also states that the event is planned to be a main roster show and hosted on Peacock rather than Raw or SmackDown.
WWE has been doing King of the Ring tournaments for decades and semi-regularly since 2002. 2002 was when the titular pay-per-view was discontinued. WWE has held five tournaments since then.
The last all-women’s event held by WWE was the famous Evolution show in 2018. There has been significant demand for a second all-women’s show, however, WWE has shown little interest in holding one.
We will continue to provide details regarding a Queen of the Ring tournament as more information becomes available.
