Former Champion Reveals Mobility Issues Ahead Of WWE Retirement Match WWE

WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg has opened up about retirement match preparations, explaining why he’s terrified to put his trunks on again.

With Goldberg previously announcing that he planned to have his WWE retirement match in the summer, the former Universal Champion’s preparations for his last-ever match are well underway.

Speaking on the CarCast podcast, Goldberg noted that he has been finding training for his in-ring return really tough.

Opening up about his preparations, Goldberg said:

“It’s been really tough. I gotta tell you. I’m a bitch to deal with anyway, but you know I know the date (of the retirement match) No one else knows the date, public wise.

“At my age you obviously have to do a lot of different things to get yourself prepared for what I’m about to embark upon. It’s uncharted water because not many people my age have done that.

“Not just showing up to show up, I need to show up and be me. I’ve tapped into me a little bit more as of late. My training, with all my injuries and with my age, you know, it makes it extremely difficult to get prepared without going overboard.”

Goldberg noted that because of his limited mobility with his knee, he can’t run.

The WWE Hall of Famer also noted that he hasn’t been able to use his shoulder, explaining:

“I’m terrified to put those trunks on again. I may even go with different kind of trunks. I’m extremely limited because of my left knee.

“I can’t run. Hell, I’m working around my shoulder that I haven’t been able to use for five years.”

Previous reports indicated that Goldberg’s retirement match is planned to take place in Atlanta, GA.

This is notably the location of Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12.

The date and location of Goldberg’s final match haven’t been confirmed by WWE at the time of writing.
