Following her announcement, retiring WWE star Meiko Satomura has been praised backstage for her “professionalism and respect.”
As previously reported, former NXT UK Women’s Champion Meiko Satomura announced that she will be retiring in April 2025.
The Joshi legend has been both a talent and a coach since signing with WWE in 2020, working in NXT UK and NXT brands.
On July 28, WWE producer and former star Shane Helms took to social media to praise Meiko Satomura for her professionalism and respect backstage. He wrote:
She was absolutely fantastic on this tour! And the thing that stood out to me the most is that even at this stage of her great career, after her match she came to me and said, “Feedback please?” That level of professionalism and respect is so rare. She was a pleasure to work with and a bigger pleasure to watch perform. All my gratitude and respect to her!
Satomura recently made her in-ring return for WWE during the company’s recent tour of Japan. WWE Women’s Champion Bayley defended her title against Meiko during the tour, which you can read about here.
