WWE Returning To Iconic Venue Ahead Of AEW Residency? WWE/AEW

WWE could be returning to an iconic wrestling venue mere days before AEW starts a multi-week residency in the same location.

It was previously announced that AEW will be heading to the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia for a residency starting on August 27.

The 2300 Arena is better known to wrestling fans as the home of ECW and has played host to many wrestling shows over years since its demise.

Now, it appears WWE could be returning to the venue, having last stopped off at the 2300 Arena back in November 2024.

According to WrestleVotes, plans are afoot for the August 19 episode of NXT to take place at the iconic venue.

This would mark WWE’s return to the 2300 Arena, having last held the November 6, 2024 episode of NXT there.

That show saw tickets sell out just an hour after going on sale, according to a previous report.

AEW’s run at the 2300 Arena starts with the August 27 episode of Dynamite and finishes with the September 11 ‘special taping of Collision’.

Addressing the AEW residency in the aforementioned announcement, Tony Khan revealed it was ‘years in the making’, stating:

“We are thrilled to bring AEW Dynamite and AEW Collision to the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia from August 27 – September 11.

“This residency has been years in the making, highlighted by an overwhelming demand from both fans and media alike for this legendary venue to host AEW events.

“I look forward to returning to the 2300 Arena for the first time since I was 13 years old and bring our passionate fans in Philadelphia an incredible few weeks of AEW shows this summer.”

All told, there’ll be three episodes of Dynamite and Collision taking place at the venue, along with the September 5 ROH Death Before Dishonor.
