Former WWE Star Explains Return Appearance

A former WWE star has explained how their on-screen appearance earlier this year came to be, following their exit from the company.

While Shayna Baszler departed WWE in July, she worked backstage during her non-compete period and appeared during September’s NXT Homecoming TV special.

Her segment on the September 16 NXT special saw her stare down Candice LeRae, before advising Sol Ruca and Zaria to fix their friendship.

Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Baszler explained that she was backstage shadowing a coach when she was approached about this appearance.

Baszler recalled:

“It wasn’t in-ring, but NXT Homecoming, I was there that day shadowing (coaching).

“They just came up to me and they were like ‘Hey, so it’s Homecoming, and we just thought it’d be cool if you appeared in this segment.’

“I was like ‘I’ve got to run home and get my cool jacket.'”

Baszler explained during this interview that while she isn’t officially with WWE, there are opportunities for her to return in a guest coach role.
