WWE Star Relinquishing Championship Before Return Update WWE

An update has emerged on WWE star Omos relinquishing the GHC Tag Team Championship, which he won in Pro-Wrestling NOAH.

Omos declared that he will be returning to WWE following his GHC Tag Team Championship defence at NOAH Sunny Voyage on January 25, 2025.

After beating All Rebellion (Galeno & Kaito Kiyomiya), Omos took to the mic to relinquish his gold, stating that Morris and Daga would be the new GHC Tag Team Champions.

Pro-Wrestling NOAH has issued an update following Omos’ declaration, announcing that this championship will be fully vacated rather than transferred.

Noting that Morris and Daga will not be recognised as the GHC Tag Team Champions, NOAH tweeted:

“👑 GHC Tag Team Titles UPDATE

“In the GHC Tag Team match on January 25, the champions Jack Morris & Omos defended their titles.

“Omos handed his title to Daga but this transfer will not be recognised and the titles will be declared vacant.”

During his time in Japan, Omos declared himself a “super mega-weight” reflecting on his dominant run in Pro-Wrestling NOAH.

Omos made his Pro-Wrestling NOAH debut at the January 1 The New Year 2025 show, teaming with Morris to defeat Naomichi Marufuji & Takashi Sugiura for the GHC Tag Team Championship.

His last WWE match was back on the April 5 episode of WWE SmackDown in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal, with Bronson Reed winning that match.

Having signed with the company in January 2019, Omos would go on to hold the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship with AJ Styles.
