A former WWE star has addressed the possibility of their tag-team returning to the company under an existing cross-promotional partnership.
Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay of the IInspiration – fka Peyton Royce and Billie Kay of the IIconics – recently brought the band back together, teaming together for the first time in three years at April’s Prestige Nothing To Lose event.
More recently, the duo have returned to TNA Wrestling, making their in-ring return to the promotion on the June 12 (taped June 7) edition of iMPACT.
With the duo re-establishing themselves in TNA, Jessica McKay has indicated that the duo would be interested in making a WWE return appearance.
During an interview with The Takedown on SI, the former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions were asked if they’d be open to returning to NXT if TNA Wrestling’s partnership offers them the opportunity.
Jessica McKay responded:
“We learned so much (during) our time in NXT and the women’s roster there now is so talented so it would definitely be a full circle moment for us.”
McKay and Lee first teamed together in NXT, with this tag-team making its debut at a house show in May 2015.
Highlights of their WWE run included being awarded “Breakout of the Year” in the 2016 NXT Year End Awards, and winning the Women’s Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 35 in 2019.
