WWE Star Returning With New Gimmick Update

Following his first vignette on the SmackDown brand, an update has been provided on WWE star Giovanni Vinci returning with a new gimmick.

On the August 9 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, WWE aired a vignette with a new gimmick for Giovanni Vinci, seemingly reminiscent of his time in NXT 2.0.

This marked Vinci’s first appearance on SmackDown after being drafted to the brand in the 2024 WWE Draft.

Prior to his inclusion in the Draft, Vinci was excommunicated from the Imperium stable by Ludwig Kaiser in April 2024.

Fightful Select (subscription required) provided an update, noting that those they spoke to claimed Giovanni Vinci has been healthy and awaiting creative.

This is to explain why the former Imperium member hadn’t been on WWE TV prior to his vignette airing on last Friday’s show – he seemingly hasn’t been legitimately injured or anything else during that time, it was just a matter of creative bringing him back into the fold.

Giovanni Vinci will be coming back to SmackDown soon, but it wasn’t confirmed in the vignette exactly when he will make his re-debut in person.
