Asuka WWE Return Reportedly Discussed For Royal Rumble

A potential spoiler has emerged for a surprise entrant in a Royal Rumble match this Saturday.

Fightful Select (subscription required) reports that several talents within WWE are of the belief that Asuka will return to the ring in the women’s Royal Rumble match.

the report noted that Fightful was unable to confirm that WWE plans for Asuka to wrestle at Royal Rumble, but can confirm that her name has been discussed internally as a potential entrant.

Asuka hasn’t wrestled since Money in the Bank in July 2021. Asuka has been recovering from an injury since, with the star sharing a photo of her arm in a brace back in August.

There has reportedly also been backstage talk about Ronda Rousey potentially making her WWE return during this weekend’s show. Becky Lynch has since reacted to these reports.
