WWE Revives Trademark Filing For ‘Edge’

WWE Revives Trademark Filing For ‘Edge’ AEW

WWE has revived a trademark filing for Edge after it emerged that a filing made a few months ago had recently been abandoned.

Just a few hours ago, we uncovered that a WWE trademark filing for Edge – that was filed in November 2024 – was deemed abandoned as of April 2025, “because the applicant failed to respond or filed a late response to an Office action.”

However, in the time since we posted that news on social media and it was picked up by other outlets, the filing has actually now been revived.

In a new document dated today (May 1, 2025) – which obviously wasn’t present when we shared the abandonment news earlier – it was noted: “The above-referenced application has been REVIVED and will be forwarded to the appropriate section of the Office for further action.”

The application was initially filed for the following goods and services:

Wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered through broadcast media including television and via the Internet or commercial online services; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports via an online community portal.

The former Edge, real name Adam Copeland, currently performs for AEW under the name Cope.

On a similar note, the same can be said for a trademark filing for Tribal Chief, which was abandoned in February after initially being filed in October, but has now been revived as of today.

That filing has the following goods and services listed:

Bottoms as clothing, pants, shorts, underwear, dresses, pajamas, lingerie, clothing ties, scarves, gloves, swimwear; wrist bands as clothing; championship trophy belts as clothing belts

You can see screenshots of the documents for both revivals below:
