The reason why an influential name was missed from a WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2023 speech has been revealed.
Rey Mysterio was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and spoke about the people who influenced including the late, great Eddie Guerrero.
One name missing from the list was Chavo Guerrero.
Writing in the current Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required), stating:
“The only notable thing that varied is that when Rey talked about the people who helped him, the name Chavo Guerrero was in the script and he didn’t say it, but since that’s all pre-approved and agreed on and likely from his own real list, it was likely an oversight.”
While the majority of the speeches at the WWE Hall of Fame were well received, a report has emerged saying that WWE was unhappy with Ric Flair’s induction speech for the Great Muta.
Jim Ross has also revealed the text message he got from Mysterio on the day of the Hall of Fame announcement.
Highlights from Mysterio’s emotional speech can be seen below this news story.
