Major Match Pitched For International WWE PLE

Major Match Pitched For International WWE PLE WWE

WWE star Rey Mysterio has pitched a major match involving his son Dominik Mysterio if WWE holds a premium live event in Mexico.

WWE has hosted major events all over the world this year, with Australia, France, Scotland and Saudi Arabia hosting recent premium live events, ahead of shows in Canada and Germany in the next few months.

Amid the company’s international expansion, several stars have called for WWE to visit Mexico, the home of Lucha Libre.

Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Rey Mysterio pitched a match against Dominik Mysterio and Santos Escobar at a potential premium live event in Mexico.

Mysterio said:

“That would be awesome. We haven’t done one in Mexico. We’ve done events, we’ve done a TV, but we haven’t done a PLE.

“I think that would be a very exciting time for not only the fans, but for me to be able to go back to where I once started and give them something special. Even if it’s the last one. I would love to close off in Mexico, if that were to happen.

“Why not (a match against Dominik Mysterio)? It would be perfect. Hell, if you wanna get even dirtier, you can throw Dom in there, maybe Santos Escobar and myself, and the loser either takes his mask off and retires, or shaves their head off and retires. Maybe a three-way dance.

“There’s so many ways we can go, but keeping in mind, let’s give the fans in Mexico a Lucha Libre style match where there’s something on the line that they’ve seen for years and years.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Mysterio admitted that he was glad that WWE scrapped a previous creative pitch, which you can read more about right here.
