A WWE backstage update has emerged regarding Rhea Ripley, who reportedly had something of an injury scare during a recent match.
This past weekend saw the second edition of WWE’s return to network primetime TV with Saturday Night’s Main Event on NBC.
With the show featuring three championship matches, it was during one of those that a current champion suffered a potential medical issue.
According to a new report from Fightful Select, Rhea Ripley “had the wind knocked out of her” during her Women’s World Championship match against Nia Jax.
The report does note that Ripley was “ok after”, and there was no mention of it being a bigger issue.
Elsewhere on the show this past Saturday, Jey Uso and Sheamus lost out in their efforts at GUNTHER’s World Heavyweight Championship and Bron Breakker’s Intercontinental Championship respectively.
Also, Kevin Owens was on the receiving end of a Sweet Chin Music courtesy of none other than Shawn Michaels himself.
The match between Jacob Fatu and Braun Strowman ended with a non-finish, but Fatu demolished Strowman in a post-match angle.
