WWE Star Seemingly Switching Brands WWE

A WWE star has seemingly switched brands according to comments made in a recent interview in the wake of WrestleMania 39.

At WrestleMania 39, Rhea Ripley defeated Charlotte Flair for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship.

Being a member of Judgment Day, all of whom are Raw brand members, this would be something of a shift for the stable to have one of its key members with a blue brand championship.

Ripley has recently addressed the situation on WWE’s The Bump, saying:

“It’s Monday Night Mami. whether Bianca [Belair] likes it or not. Yeah, I might be the SmackDown Women’s Champion, but I ran that place [RAW] with The Judgment Day and I had to go out there and take my moment…

“I just wanted to remind her that I’m still here and this is still my show, but this was sort of my warning to her, but also a little goodbye cause I will be stepping away more on SmackDown but you might still see me here and there.”

Ripley has been announced for an appearance on tonight’s SmackDown, as have her Judgment Day teammates Dominik Mysterio and Damian Priest, who are advertised for a tag match against Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar.

Prior to WrestleMania, the members of Judgment Day had already been appearing on both Raw and SmackDown.

Becky Lynch recently described Ripley as “the future of wrestling” following her WrestleMania 39 match.

The match with Charlotte Flair reportedly went over time, though WWE officials were happy with how it turned out.

Ripley is the “first Grand Slam” champion, having held all major women’s championships, including the NXT UK Women’s Championship.

Rhea Ripley is the fifth Women’s Grand Slam Champion, but the first to achieve that with an NXT UK Champion added to the catalogue of championships.
