Rikishi Criticizes ‘Backwards’ Jey Uso WWE King Of The Ring Booking WWE

Rikishi has slammed WWE creative for what he describes as the ‘backwards’ booking of the former World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso.

Jey Uso lost the World Heavyweight Championship to GUNTHER on the June 9, episode of WWE Raw, having won it from him at WrestleMania 41 in April.

Rikishi was critical of the decision to take the title off Jey Uso, calling for the writers involved in the decision to be fired.

With Uso now in the semifinals of the King of the Ring Tournament, Rikishi is no more impressed with what’s happening with his son.

Speaking on his Off The Top podcast, Rikishi shared his opinion that the “booking is backwards” when it comes to Jey Uso, saying:

“What is this, backwards? Kid had the belt… these are reputable names (Jey Uso beat in the four-way), they’re all good workers, good names.

“I don’t even want to get my blood pressure high again, man. The booking is backwards!”

The June 16 episode of WWE Raw saw Jey Uso enter the King of the Ring Tournament, going on to pin Bronson Reed in a match that also featured Rusev and Sheamus.

Uso now goes into the semifinals to face Cody Rhodes on June 23, with the winner heading to Night of Champions to face either Sami Zayn or Randy Orton, as determined on the June 20 episode of SmackDown.

WWE Night of Champions takes place on June 28 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
