WWE is reportedly using veteran Robert Roode to ‘teach’ a potential future star in the form of the undefeated Veer Mahaan.
At the June 18 house show in Rapid City, South Dakota, Mahaan picked up the win over Roode.
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has specifically chosen Roode to work with Mahaan so he can ‘teach’ him. Meltzer wrote:
“They are doing this match on all the house shows event though both are heels, basically with the idea of Roode being able to be a good teacher for Mahaan.”
It was only a couple of weeks ago that Meltzer reported WWE had paired Roode up with Omos for a similar reason, so it’s quite clear how they view Roode at this point.
Roode and Ziggler hadn’t been on WWE TV since early April, but returned a couple of weeks ago to confront Omos and MVP. However, they’ve since vanished again.
