Update On Roman Reigns’ Post-WrestleMania Schedule

Update On Roman Reigns’ Post-WrestleMania Schedule WWE

An update on WWE’s plans for Roman Reigns after his WrestleMania 39 match against Cody Rhodes have been revealed.

Speaking to WrestleVotes, Louis Dangoor of GiveMeSport has reported that Reigns may not be seen in WWE until SummerSlam in August if he loses the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania on April 2.

In an update to the GMS news, WrestleVotes did clarify that the plans are “contingent on if/when Reigns eventually loses the title” with plans currently being “not certain.”

WrestleVotes is quoted as saying:

“I can imagine there’s probably a significant break, at least a month even longer, until there’s a major show that requires Roman Reigns.

“You may not see him until SummerSlam though. He’ll be away for a little bit.”

With Reigns signing a part-time contract in 2022, as GiveMeSport notes, it does mean he’s not constantly on the road like the full-time roster.

Reigns made a rare WWE house show appearance on March 4, which boosted ticket sales for that event which proves his value as a top star in the company.

As WrestleVotes notes:

“WWE wanted to make Roman Reigns a major deal, and they did.

“Now every time you put on a major show, you need your major star.”

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez used the Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes segment of WWE Raw and events from the Friday March 17 SmackDown as examples to suggest WWE’s long-term planning post-WrestleMania.

In the segment on the March 20 WWE Raw, Reigns made not-so-subtle references about AEW.
