WWE Star Cleared For Return After Concerning ‘Situation’ WWE

A WWE star is cleared for their in-ring return after a “situation” that caused legitimate concerns following a recent NXT match.

On the March 7 episode of NXT, the show went off the air with Roxanne Perez ‘collapsing’ after her match with Meiko Satomura and being taken away in an ambulance.

It was previously reported that the collapse angle was a storyline with the underlying need to write Perez off TV being a legitimate real-life issue, as Dave Meltzer stated;

“The reason it’s so vague is because the actual (real-life) situation really is so vague, they actually don’t know what exactly is going on.

“She didn’t faint after the match, that was a cover story for the fact that something may or may not be going on, and they don’t know exactly, so therefore they did the Shawn Michaels angle.”

Meltzer has now provided further information on Perez’s status on Wrestling Observer Radio, saying:

“So she is okay, cleared, and will be worked back into storylines as soon as… probably starting on (tonight’s) show. Somehow they’re gonna get her back in the mix.

“Whatever the issue was, they got a good report. It’s not an injury, but it’s just a situation that could have kept her out and that’s why they did the (ambulance) thing as kind of like a backup thing, and everything’s cool, and from what I was told, they’re gonna start working her back in.”

Perez is the current NXT Women’s Champion, having become champion on the December 13, 2022 episode of the show.

Due to her absence, the planned match between Perez and Tiffany Stratton won’t be happening at Stand & Deliver, and instead there’ll be a ladder match for the NXT Women’s Championship, which Perez hasn’t actually been announced for yet.

There’ll be two qualifiers on tonight’s show, with Stratton taking on Indi Hartwell, and Lyra Valkyria against Ivy Nile (which was originally Valkyria vs Wendy Choo but has been changed).

Already qualified are Zoey Stark who beat Sol Ruca last week, and Gigi Dolin who beat Kiana James.

The NXT Women’s Champion had spoken about her sense of belonging following her appearance at WWE Royal Rumble in January.

Also set for tonight’s NXT are Ilja Dragunov vs JD McDonagh, and a ‘Great Debate’ between Chase U and Schism.
