While previously announced to be returning at WWE’s premium live event, find out where Cody Rhodes appeared in the Rumble and what happened!
The titular Royal Rumble match for the WWE Men’s division kicked off tonight’s (January 28) premium live event, it may have well been a countdown to Cody Rhodes.
Cody Rhodes did make his hotly anticipated return to WWE after having suffered a torn pectoral muscle in advance of Hell in a Cell.
While Rhodes would go on to compete in the match as the muscle was ultimately entirely torn off of the bone and could not cause any more damage, he required surgery and extensive rehab thereafter.
Rhodes was entrant number 30 in the 2023 Royal Rumble.
Cody Rhodes famously returned to WWE at WrestleMania 38 after having previously left the company, competed around the world and helped to found All Elite Wrestling.
In the end, Cody Rhodes would go on to win the Royal Rumble, last eliminating GUNTHER who’d made it right to the end from #1, and secure his spot in the main event of WrestleMania 39.
