A 2/3 falls championship match has been added to the WWE Royal Rumble 2025 premium live event on February 1.
Up until today, the only confirmed matches for the Royal Rumble event were the men’s and women’s Rumble matches themselves, and the ladder match for the Undisputed WWE Championship between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens.
During tonight’s January 24 SmackDown, a WWE Tag Team Championship match was announced for the Rumble.
The match will see DIY defend the championship against the Motor City Machine Guns, in a 2/3 falls match.
DIY won the WWE Tag Team Championship from MCMG on December 6, turning heel in the process.
MCMG have picked up wins against A-Town Down Under, Los Garza and Pretty Deadly in three consecutive weeks on SmackDown, thus earning them a title rematch.
