Another update has emerged on the WWE Royal Rumble status of Malakai Black off the back of his departure from AEW.
Black has been written off AEW TV, with his former House of Black teammates Brody King, Buddy Matthews and Julia Hart rebranding themselves the Hounds of Hell.
Black is not expected to make any further appearances for AEW, which has naturally led to questions about a possible WWE return at the Rumble.
As reported previously, Black was still under contract with AEW despite being written off TV, and his deal wasn’t expected to have expired in time for a Rumble comeback.
However, if you weren’t aware of that, or were still holding out some level of hope… it might be best not to.
As reported by PWInsider Elite, there is “zero chance” of Malakai Black appearing at the WWE Royal Rumble today.
The report reiterates that Black is indeed still under an AEW contract and he is not in Indianapolis for the show.
