WWE Royal Rumble 2025 Surprise Appearance Plans Revealed

Plans for some surprise appearances at this year’s WWE Royal Rumble event have been revealed.

On February 1, Indianapolis, IN hosts the 38th annual WWE Royal Rumble event, emanating from Lucas Oil Stadium.

As ever, one of the the key talking points heading into this year’s event relates to the surprise appearances and returns we could see take place.

While names such as Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair seem like options for a return from the active roster, it seems as if WWE may have some legends in line for appearances also.

According to PWInsider Elite (via WrestleZone), WWE are to have some former Royal Rumble winners appear at this year’s Royal Rumble, with 1992 winner Ric Flair and 1988 winner Hacksaw Jim Duggan being discussed as potential candidates.

Given both Duggan and Flair’s age (70 & 75), it seems likely these appearances would be cameos rather than surprise entrants in the Rumble itself, however, no specifics regarding their role on the show is known at present.

We will provide further updates on Flair and Duggan’s statuses for the Royal Rumble as more information becomes available, as well as any other potential returns for the event.
