WWE Star Hits Unfortunate Milestone At Royal Rumble 2025 WWE

WWE star Kevin Owens hit an unfortunate milestone with his title match loss at Royal Rumble 2025.

The February 1, 2025, Royal Rumble saw Kevin Owens fail to defeat Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

Highlights from the Ladder Match which saw the Undisputed and Winged Eagle belts both on the line can be seen below this news story, with it later being reported that Rhodes was ‘injured‘ during the match.

With Rhodes continuing his reign as Undisputed WWE Champion, Owens has secured accolade of his own, as pointed out by the Wrestling Stats & Info on Twitter.

The Wrestling Stats & Info account has revealed that Owens has joined a list of stars who have failed to win the WWE Championship in ten or more televised matches, tweeting:

“Following his match at #RoyalRumble, @FightOwensFight has joined the dubious club of Superstars who have challenged for the #WWETitle 10+ times without ever winning the @WWE’s flagship championship.”

Wrestling Stats & Info identified Dolph Ziggler and Don Muraco as other members of this ‘dubious club’.

While Owens hasn’t held the WWE Championship, he was the second ever holder of the Universal Championship back in 2016.

He first challenged for the WWE Championship on TV ironically at another Royal Rumble event, teaming with Sami Zayn to face AJ Styles for gold in a handicap match at Royal Rumble 2018.
