Major WWE Royal Rumble Change Discussed WWE

A major change to the structure of the WWE Royal Rumble Premium Live Event has been discussed after a previous comments from a TKO executive.

Speaking in December 2024, TKO CEO Mark Shapiro had noted that other WWE PLEs could emulate the success of WrestleMania by going to two nights.

Fightful Select has now revealed that one such candidate that has been discussed for an additional night is the WWE Royal Rumble PLE.

The report notes that while the prospect of a two-night WWE Royal Rumble has been discussed, Fightful Select hasn’t heard much back on how far talks have gone.

The 2025 Royal Rumble takes place on February 1 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Saudi Arabia was previously reported as the host for the 2026 Royal Rumble with the PLE set to take place in January of that year.

The PLE will be taking place during Riyadh Season which typically runs from October to March and sees the region host a number of sport events, music festivals and concerts.

In May 2024, Endeavor and TKO President Mark Shapiro revealed that they were “very happy” with the partnership with and Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud and that the public can look for WWE to expand their current deal in the next 6-12 months.
