WWE Royal Rumble Universal Championship Match Gets New Stipulation And Challenger

WWE Royal Rumble Universal Championship Match Gets New Stipulation And Challenger

Last week on WWE SmackDown, Adam Pearce won the chance to face Roman Reigns at the Royal Rumble with a whole lot of help from Reigns and Jey Uso. Tonight, on SmackDown, Paul Heyman and Reigns decided this match needed a stipulation.

Heyman modified the contract, and in a segment with Adam Pearce, announced the match is now a No Disqualification Match. Later on, Roman Reigns told Paul he never asked for no DQ and wants a last man standing match instead.

Roman demanded a contract signing in the middle of the ring. Pearce obliged.

However, after both men had signed, Pearce smirked and walked away with a limp. As he got to the top of the ramp, he announced he wouldn’t be medically cleared. All contracts have card subject to change and as a WWE Official, he can choose a replacement.

Pearce then brought out his replacement. Kevin Owens will now be taking on Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship in a Last Man Standing match at The Royal Rumble.
