A former WWE star has opened up about their friendship with NJPW’s Mercedes Mone revealing they remain close friends.
Samuray Del Sol and Mercedes Mone were both members of the WWE NXT roster as Kalisto and Sasha Banks respectively and this was the start of their enduring friendship.
Del Sol joined WWE in 2013 and would remain with the company until 2021 having journeyed through to the main roster.
Mone signed with WWE in 2021 and would be a feature of NXT programming until her main roster debut in 2015, staying with the company until 2022.
Appearing on The Sessions with Renee Paquette, Del Sol spoke about their friendship, saying:
“We both love the same things.
“We both love lucha libre. We both love to practice everywhere. Wherever I’m at, it’s like, ‘Hey, I’m going to go down there and practice’. ‘All right, cool. Let’s go.’
“On top of that, she’s [also] my neighbor and when Abby (his wife) always makes Mexican food or salsa, she’s like, ‘All right, I’m there.’ ‘All right, cool. Come on.'”
Del Sol and Mone are in business together with their CBD brand Kanndela having won the Industry Newcomer Awards at the World CBD Awards in October 2022.
Mone has previously discussed how CBD products helped improve her mental health.
