The date of the first WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event NBC special of 2025 has been confirmed, ahead of the upcoming event.
The December 14 WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event show will mark the beginning of a series of quarterly specials which will air on NBC.
Ahead of this first special, reports indicated that the next show in the series will take place on January 25.
Dave Meltzer has confirmed this on Wrestling Observer Radio, noting that WWE confirmed this date with him:
“It will be January 25. That date has been out there for a while, but WWE did confirm it to me.
Addressing the special taking place so close to Royal Rumble 2025, Meltzer explained:
“The deal is that when they get the date from NBC, that is the date they run. They do not run NBC. NBC is the one who makes the choice. They are the higher power in this one.”
Royal Rumble 2025 is slated for February 1, just one week after the January 25 show.
Several big matches have been confirmed for the December 14 Saturday Night’s Main Event special, including Cody Rhodes vs Kevin Owens for the WWE Championship and GUNTHER vs Finn Balor for the World Heavyweight Title.
