
The viewership figures for the December 14 WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event special have now been revealed.
The first of WWE’s new series of Saturday Night’s Main Event specials on NBC took place last weekend. The show was eventful, featuring four championship matches.
Per Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, the first WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event NBC special drew a total viewership figure of 1.59 million, finishing in the #2 spot for the night.
In the important 18-49 demographic, the show achieved a 0.42 rating.
For comparison, the NBA Thunder vs Rockets game which won the night averaged 1.89 million viewers on ABC, with a 0.47 rating in the 18-49 demo.
A new champion was crowned at Saturday Night’s Main Event, with Chelsea Green defeating Michin to become the first WWE Women’s United States Champion.

The show was headlined by an Undisputed WWE Championship match, with Cody Rhodes defeating Kevin Owens to retain his gold.
Owens attacked Rhodes after the show went off the air, dropping him with a package piledriver.
Other title matches saw Liv Morgan defeat IYO SKY to retain her Women’s World Championship, and GUNTHER defend his World Heavyweight Title against Finn Balor and Damian Priest.
