Analyzing WWE’s numbers is a tricky thing right now. In terms of generated revenue, the company is in the best position it has ever been in thanks to their current television deals. Everything else? Virtually the opposite.
WWE’s television ratings for Raw are at the lowest they have ever been, reaching a disastrous low in December 2020. However, if you ask WWE President Nick Khan, he will tell you their numbers are “robust”.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful provided the following coverage of WWE’s first-quarter earnings call today:
“A caller asks if WWE is doing anything on the storyline front to reinvigorate the fanbase. Nick Khan says their numbers are ‘robust’ and says people are watching a lot of ways. He says they know immediately from fans what is working and what isn’t, and it will impact things.
The old excuse was ‘injuries.’ Last year after the Q2 call, there were hasty answers in the form of Raw Underground and Retribution The year prior was the Wild Card after the Q1.”
It has also been reported that WWE is not expecting to have fans back in arenas before halfway through 2021.
