WWE Set To Change Major WrestleMania Match

WWE Set To Change Major WrestleMania Match

As many people have speculated, WWE is reportedly going to add Daniel Bryan to the Edge vs. Roman Reigns match for the Universal Championship that is set to take place next month at WrestleMania.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that Bryan will be added to the WrestleMania main event, which was set up during the closing match of the Fastlane pay-per-view last night:

The key main event for WrestleMania is now confirmed to be a three-way with Roman Reigns vs. Edge vs. Daniel Bryan for the Universal title.

Edge’s apparent heel turn after laying both Reigns and Bryan out with chair sets, leading to Reigns’ win at tonight’s WWE Fastlane event appeared to set up a change in the match even though they went off the air on the show pushing Reigns vs. Edge, which has been the announced match since last month’s Elimination Chamber.

It’s since been confirmed that finish was done to set up a three-way that had been rumored for a week and interviews pushing Edge and Bryan as adversaries seemed to indicate them meeting down the line.

This has been corroborated by Fightful Select, who have noted that the plan since the end of February has been to add Daniel Bryan to the WrestleMania Universal title match to make it a three-way:

Fightful has confirmed this report and learned that this was the creative plan at least as of the last week of February

The match has not been confirmed by WWE as of yet, with the company still promoting a singles match between Roman Reigns and Edge for WrestleMania, but the change could potentially be made later this week on SmackDown.
