Seth Rollins has spoken out about John Cena declaring himself as an entrant in the WWE Elimination Chamber rather than qualifying traditionally.
On the road to WrestleMania, the Elimination Chamber will serve as a pivotal point in determining the WrestleMania main events.
In an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, Seth Rollins shared his thoughts on the current WWE Elimination Chamber field.
While John Cena simply declared his entry, CM Punk did win a qualifying match against Sami Zayn to earn his spot in the match, Rollins added that he prefers the latter but understands Cena getting a pass.
Rollins said:
“CM Punk in the chamber, we don’t love that. John Cena, we love that. We love John. John didn’t even qualify, ‘I’m John Cena, I’m doing it.’ Alright, I get it.”
When McAfee asked if he attempted to swerve the qualifying match himself, Rollins said:
“You know what, I’ve tried that, they don’t flow with me. I’m a guy that likes to earn my way in. I like a good fight. I got a fight in a couple weeks, we’ll get in there, and then I’ll worry about Punk and Cena and worry about getting into the main event of WrestleMania.”
There are still more qualifying matches to come with two being announced on Monday’s Raw (February 3).
Rey Mysterio will take on Logan Paul on February 10 after Paul got involved in Mysterio’s recent match with Kofi Kingston, while Rollins will also face Finn Balor the following week (February 17), leaving two vacant spots remaining ahead of the Toronto event.
WWE Elimination Chamber is set for March 1, 2025 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
