Former WWE Name Says Shane McMahon In AEW Is ‘So Crazy It Might Work’ WWE

Veteran commentator Jim Ross has commented on the possibility of Shane McMahon wrestling in AEW, discussing his relationship with the top name.

When AEW was first formed in 2019, the idea of a McMahon appearing for the new company was crazy.

Nowadays… yes it’s still a crazy idea, but the possibility is there, with WWE now operating under parent company Endeavor rather than any of the McMahon family.

Speaking on his Grillin’ JR podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross noted that Shane McMahon in AEW might be crazy enough to work.

When asked about the possibility of Shane in AEW, Jim Ross said:

“It’s so crazy that it might work, depending on how it was positioned and how it was introduced. Shane called me the other day, he’s called me two or three times, which I really appreciate. He’s always been sensitive in that respect.

“That’s only a question that Shane could answer. Shane and Tony Khan being together, how would that work creatively, heck, who knows? Might be great. But in any event, that all depends on Shane and what he wants to do.”

Shane McMahon hasn’t wrestled since returning for an impromptu match against The Miz at WrestleMania 39 in April 2023. He tore his quad muscle early into this match, and was unable to continue.

A top AEW star is preparing to make his return after several months away, which you can read more about right here.
