International Star Reveals He Received Message From WWE’s Shawn Michaels

A notable international star says he has received a message from WWE’s Shawn Michaels which he’s happy about, teasing a crossover.

Four time GHC Heavyweight Champion Naomichi Marufuji has been at the forefront of WWE’s partnership with Pro Wrestling NOAH, both in the ring and in jus role as Vice President of the promotion.

After noting in July 2024 that he wants to bring more WWE stars to NOAH, Marufuji has faced off against several WWE names, losing so AJ Styles at Destination 2024, and dropping his and Takashi Sugiura’s GHC Tag Team Championship to Jack Morris and WWE’s Omos at The New Year 2025.

Marufuji has now taken to Twitter to note that he has received a message from WWE Senior Vice President of Talent Development & Creative Shawn Michaels, which he’s very pleased with.

The Japanese star cryptically wrote:

“Through a certain person I received a message from Shawn Michaels.

“The contents are… I’m happy.”

While we’ve seen several WWE stars visit Japan, this message has fuelled speculation that Marufuji could soon wrestle in a WWE ring.
