Sheamus recently signed a new WWE contract as the company undertakes a quest to secure talent with expiring deals.
The news that Sheamus had signed an extension to his WWE deal was revealed by Pat McAfee on September 17, 2024.
Further details emerged noting that it was a multi-year deal and that his contract was due to expire earlier in 2024.
As is common with many WWE contracts, however, time was added to the contract due to injury.
Dave Meltzer has now provided further details of the deal in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, writing:
Sheamus has signed a new five-year deal.
As noted a few weeks ago, WWE had started to work on at least 15 new deals for talent whose contracts would be up over the next several months.
Among the stars that WWE have reportedly approached for new deals are Rhea Ripley, Liv Morgan and Nia Jax.
Sheamus has commented on his new contract, sharing a message to his fans along with a photo of the star and a pint of Guinness.
It was recently reported that Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix of the Lucha Bros are set to join WWE.
According to Meltzer, the arrival of Fenix is reliant on AEW allowing him to leave early due to injuries adding time to his contract.
