WWE’s Shotzi Congratulates Athena On AEW Signing

WWE SmackDown star Shotzi has congratulated Athena (fka WWE’s Ember Moon) on her AEW signing following Double or Nothing.

During the pay-per-view, Athena made a shock appearance following Jade Cargill’s TBS Title defence over Anna Jay, siding with Jay and Kris Statlander and confronting Cargill in the ring.

Tony Khan confirmed that Athena is All Elite with a graphic shortly after.

Shotzi took to Twitter to send a message to Athena, writing:

Athena and Shotzi were tag partners during Athena’s second run in NXT, with the duo winning the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship together in early 2021.

While Shotzi and the former Ember Moon were technically the second team to hold the gold, they had defeated inaugural champs Dakota Kai & Raquel Rodriguez (Gonzalez) for the gold later on the same episode of NXT that the first champions were crowned.

Athena was released from her WWE contract in November 2021.

Shotzi last wrestled on WWE TV on the May 20 edition of SmackDown, losing to Raquel Rodriquez in singles action.
