WWE
It’s no secret that the Vince McMahon regime had a very clear idea of what made a good female WWE star, and I don’t have to explain what that was to you.
The Triple H regime however appears to value talent a lot more than pure physical appearance, which has apparently led to talk of bringing back a former star who was once dismissed due to not looking how Vince wanted.
Given that Tamyra Mensah-Stock is an Olympic gold medal winning wrestler, you would have thought she’s be right up WWE’s alley, but as I said, she didn’t look exactly like everyone else.
According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the Triple H regime is once again interested in her, so there’s every chance she’ll be brought back in.
Meltzer noted:
Tamyra Mensah-Stock, who won a gold medal in the 2021 Olympics at 149 pounds, may get a look again. She made it clear after winning the gold that she was interested in going to WWE and she was brought in, but the previous regime wasn’t interested because she didn’t have the look they wanted. The new regime has interest in her with the idea she was the first black woman from the U.S ever to win a gold medal.
With reports that Gable Steveson’s WWE career is getting off to a less than ideal start, perhaps WWE will want to show that signing Olympians is a good idea after all.
