WWE is said to have “significant interest” in signing a certain AEW star for the NXT brand when they become available.
A lot has made been lately about the likes of the Lucha Brothers and Daniel Garcia making the move from AEW to WWE when their contracts expire.
One of the other names on that same list of potential movers is former AEW World Tag Team Champion Ricky Starks.
Overnight, a lot of rumors picked up about Starks on social media leading some fans to believe a move to WWE is closer than ever.
While nothing is officially confirmed regarding those particular rumors, Fightful Select has provided something of an update on WWE’s thought process with Starks.
Fightful reports that there is indeed “significant interest” from the WWE side – specifically NXT – in bringing Starks into the brand “once he is available”.
A key part of that is “once he is available”, which suggests he isn’t available quite yet, at least not to their knowledge.
We’ll keep you posted with any further updates on Ricky Starks’ status as they emerge.
