WWE Has ‘Significant Interest’ In Signing Former Champion WWE

WWE reportedly has “significant interest” in signing a former multi-time champion competing in Lucha Libre AAA.

On June 7, WWE Worlds Collide took place at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, CA – its first crossover event with AAA since announcing their acquisition of the promotion during WrestleMania 41 weekend.

One of the AAA stars to feature on the show was former AAA Latin American, World Tag Team and Trios Champion Psycho Clown – who competed alongside Pagano and El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. in a losing effort against WWE’s Legado Del Fantasma (Santose Escobar, Berto & Angel).

According to a new report from WrestleVotes Radio, WWE has interest in signing Psycho Clown, with the company said to be “intrigued by his character” and the “marketing abilities” attached to it.

WrestleVotes said:

“We are told WWE has a significant interest in making yet another AAA star a prominent part of their main roster, that being Pyscho Cown.

Psycho Clown, who is a third-generation wrestler, has been working under this current gimmick with AAA since 2007 and has also appeared briefly on TNA TV back in 2019.

WWE is said to be intrigued by his character and the marketing abilities that are attached to it.”

This news comes following comments from AAA’s Mr. Iguana, who stated last week that he was set for a move to WWE’s main roster following his strong merchandise sales.

Both Psycho Clown and Mr. Iguana were recently announced to be appearing at the upcoming pair of WWE SuperShows in Mexico on July 26 & 27.

We will provide further updates on WWE’s potential interest in signing Psycho Clown if more news becomes available.
