A top potential WWE signing has teased his retirement amid speculation about his next move following a recent departure.
With Jeff Cobb officially finishing up with NJPW on April 19, all signs appeared to point to WWE as Cobb’s next home in wrestling.
Cobb has instead taken to Twitter to wish himself a happy retirement, sharing a photo of himself on a beach.
He captioned his photo:
16 years is a long time to work, Happy Retirement to me…. I’ll let the waves take me to my next destination.
🎶 Can I wade in your water, until I catch your wave 🎶
All of this comes after Fightful reporting on March 13 that Cobb – who was referred to in the report as a free agent – is a star WWE had their eye on.
This report also noted that one source even told Fightful that Cobb had appeared on WWE’s internal roster as of late, however, this couldn’t yet be confirmed.
A later report from Dave Meltzer prior to Cobb’s official NJPW departure indicated that there have been contract talks between the free agent and WWE, with no confirmation of a deal.
