WWE Signs Ring of Honor Star

As reported by SquaredCircleSirensWWE have signed Deonna Purrazzo to a developmental contract, as part of NXT.

Purrazzo is mainly known for her time in Ring of Honor, where she competed in their women’s division, ‘Women of Honor’.

She is credited with with starting the “rebirth” of ‘Women of Honor’, having made her ROH debut against Mandy Leon on July 25, 2015.

The ‘Virtuosa’ was named the 2017 ‘Women of Honor’ Wrestler of the Year.

Purrazzo signed a contract with ROH on January 11, 2018, and participated in the recent Women of Honor Championship tournament, where she advanced to the quarter-final stages, losing out to Mayu Iwatani.

She appeared in sporadic enhancement roles in Impact over a three-year period of 2014-2017, losing to the likes of Brooke Tessmacher, Madison Rayne and Laurel Van Ness.

Purrazzo has also been used by WWE in the past, as a Rosebud for Adam Rose, and as an enhancement talent in NXT and on the main roster, being defeated by the likes of Asuka, Bayley and Alexa Bliss.

She was picked as an alternate for the inaugural Mae Young Classic, competing in a dark match, where she and Jessica James defeated Nicole Matthews and Barbi Hayden in a tag team match.

Purrazzo is set to report at the WWE Performance Center in mid-July and is expected to be one of the participants in this year’s Mae Young Classic.
