15-Year WWE Record Broken On SmackDown WWE

WWE made company history with the June 13 edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown, breaking a record with its match card.

Out of the five matches that took place on SmackDown, four of these bouts were four way matches in the ongoing King and Queen of the Ring tournaments.

This is a historic number, with this edition of SmackDown now holding the record for the WWE show with the most “Fatal 4-Way” matches taking place.

The previous record was held by the June 2010 Fatal 4-Way Premium Live Event, which featured three fourway bouts.

The two King of the Ring first round four way matches were won by Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes respectively.

Orton defeated Aleister Black, Carmelo Hayes and LA Knight to advance. Rhodes pinned Shinsuke Nakamura in a match also featuring Damian Priest and Andrade.

On the women’s side, Alexa Bliss advanced in the Queen of the Ring tournament by pinning Candice LeRae before Charlotte Flair could make Alba Fyre tap out with her Figure 8 submission.

Finally, Jade Cargill won her fourway, pinning Piper Niven in her bout, which also featured Michin and Nia Jax.
